Coffee Table Books

I just love a good coffee table book. I love seeing what is on the cover, the different fonts and colors used for the spine and of course all the pretty images and words that fill the pages inside. While it isn’t often that I sit down and read them from cover to cover I often times return to my books as escapism dreaming of the places I have been or looking for inspiration for places I haven’t been to yet. When they aren’t being read, I love displaying them around my home. I have them in bookcases, on coffee tables and anywhere else that needs a little decoration. Layering books are a great way to bring different heights and dimensions to a room when you want to display different home goods and objects on tables and chests. I think books tell a lot about a person and their interests and I love when my friends and family are over and pick up a book to flip through. It is a great way to engage conversation and learn about others through photos and storytelling.

Assouline has always been one of my favorite coffee table book publishers. Before you could buy books easily online, I would pop into their store inside The Plaza Hotel each time I was in NYC and leave with a little treasure. Now the shops are all over the world and it is fun to stop inside them each time I travel and see what they have on display. One time when we were in London I was inside the Assouline store there and I was flipping through the book The Queen’s People and sales associate came over and asked me to put on gloves in order to touch the book if I wanted to continue browsing! All hail to the Queen!

In honor of World Book Day Assouline is offering 25% off their books online. I have to tell you these books NEVER go on sale so what a great way to get one or two for your home. They truly never go out of style and can be moved from room to room or tables as you grow your collection. I have been collecting the “In The Spirit” series for years and add one right before or after we visit the destination. I recently got this one about Lee Radziwell. We know some much about Jackie and so little about Lee. Here are a few of my favorite books I have in my home or have just purchased.
